Terms for using this site and our text service

These terms apply to virtualmechanicalpt.com and to text messages from Virtual Mechanical Physical Therapy, PLLC ("VMPT", "we"). By using the site or opting in to texts, you agree to them. Last updated September 15, 2026.

This website is information, not treatment

The content on this site, including the free videos, is general education about mechanical diagnosis and therapy. It is not medical advice for you specifically, and it does not create a clinician-patient relationship. That relationship begins only when you book and attend a visit and complete the intake process. If you have severe or worsening symptoms, unexplained weight loss, fever, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a recent injury that has not been evaluated, see a physician or seek emergency care first.

Where care is available

Brian Westlake is licensed to practise physical therapy in New York State. Visits are available to people who are physically located in New York at the time of the visit. If you are elsewhere, you may join the list for your state; joining the list does not create a clinician-patient relationship.

Booking, payment and the guarantee

Visits are booked and paid for through Sesame Care, which has its own terms. The money-back guarantee described on the pricing page is offered by VMPT on the conditions stated there.

Text-message service

Program. When you opt in on our contact page, VMPT sends text messages from (585) 209-5300. You choose which kind you want:

Replies and visit follow-up: answers to your question, help with scheduling, and follow-up about your care. Message frequency varies.
Tips and offers: pain-relief tips, new videos and occasional offers. Up to 4 messages per month.

Cost. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan. VMPT does not charge for texts.

Consent is voluntary. Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of booking or purchasing any service from VMPT.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You will receive one confirmation message and nothing further unless you opt in again. You may also opt out by emailing brian.westlake@virtualmechanicalpt.com.

Help. Reply HELP to any message, email brian.westlake@virtualmechanicalpt.com, or call (585) 209-5300.

Carriers. The service is available on major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to transmission limitations and your carrier's coverage.

Your number. You confirm that you are the owner or authorised user of the mobile number you provide, and that you will tell us if it changes. Your number and consent record are handled as described in our Privacy Policy and are never shared with third parties for their marketing.

Please do not send urgent or emergency information by text. Texts are not monitored around the clock. For a medical emergency, call 911.

Free videos and email

When you request the free videos you agree to receive them, and occasional emails about relieving your own pain, at the address you provide. Every such email has an unsubscribe link. We do not send email to anyone who has not asked for it.

Use of the site

You may view and share links to this site freely. The text, videos and images are owned by VMPT or used with permission, and may not be copied for commercial use without written consent. Do not attempt to interfere with the site or submit forms on behalf of someone else without their permission.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VMPT is not liable for loss or injury arising from reliance on the general information on this site, or from interruptions in the site or the text service. Nothing in these terms limits the professional obligations Brian owes you as a patient once you are under his care.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of New York State.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version. Continued use of the site or the text service after a change means you accept the new terms.
